Statement of Economic Interests (Form 700s)

As stated on the California Fair Political Practices Commission (FPPC) website, every elected official and public employee who makes or influences governmental decisions is required to submit a Statement of Economic Interest, also known as the Form 700. The Form 700 provides transparency and ensures accountability in two ways:
  • It provides necessary information to the public about an official’s personal financial interests to ensure that officials are making decisions in the best interest of the public and not enhancing their personal finances.
  • It serves as a reminder to the public official of potential conflicts of interest so the official can abstain from making or participating in governmental decisions that are deemed conflicts of interest.

Fiscal & Financial Training (SB 827)

A Local Agency Official shall receive two (2) hours of Fiscal & Financial Training. A Local Agency Official in service before January 1, 2026 must complete Fiscal & Financial Training before January 1, 2028 (unless service term ends before January 9, 2028), then every two (2) years. A Local Agency Official commencing service on or after January 1, 2026 must complete Fiscal & Financial Training within six (6) months from the first day of service with the Local Agency and at least once every two (2) years thereafter, pursuant to Government Code § 53238 et seq.

Enterprise Systems Catalog (SB 272)

Pursuant to Government Code § 6270.5, a local agency, except a local educational agency, is required to create a publicly available catalog of enterprise systems utilized by the agency.
